Reader, I had a marvellous night out yesterday. It was Carnival, as I think I mentioned, and I went to hang out at my friend Nick's. His mum owns a hotel, so they basically live in the cellar. It was me, Nick, Jen and a boy called Matt. We played Call of Duty 4 (Nick: Jenny! They just killed you again! Jenny: I do not think my BTEC in IT has prepared me for this!) and had a few beers.

Then at ten, we went out into town (luckily Nick's hotel is right on the seafront) and went through the funfair and onto the beach, dodging the local Fuzz (Me: Don't stress - they're only Specials!) and gangs of local tiny chavs. More beers, then we met my friend Maria outside Mario's family's restaurant. Then we met Gay Josh and his Prettyboy Ex and Polish Chorus Girl and went to the 24 hour ASDA to get top-up and some cake. Nick, who was rather inebriated, insisted on getting some middle-aged ASDA woman to pose with him for a pic on his phone. Sigh.

I got in just before one, and a great time was had by all.

Finished Worse than Slavery: Parchman Farm and the Ordeal of Jim Crow Justice today.  It was incredibly sad, and I know I'll never roll my eyes next time someone refers to the pre-Civil Rights South as the Black Holocaust. Highly reccommended.

About to listen to Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour. The theme is Head to Toe.
